Why the quarter looked the way it did
What drove margins
The Services business (including Essentials, Accessories, and repair services covering refrigerators and other products) grew by around 17% in Q1 and operates at double-digit PBT margins.
Management stated they were unable to pass on the bulk of commodity and forex cost increases directly to consumers through price hikes in order to preserve competitive positioning in the market.
Front-load washing machine models were streamlined from 55-57 down to 24-25, reducing overall SKUs by nearly half, which successfully simplified counter displays, inventory management, and manufacturing changeover times.
03 · Demand, customers & order book
Where demand is coming from
In Q1 FY27, top-load washing machine volume growth was in excess of 20%, front-load grew at 9% to 10%, and room air conditioners (RAC) grew at 6% to 8%.
The company consciously avoided carrying forward older-rated AC inventory and cleared it by January, missing out on lower-priced legacy inventory advantages as new-rating products priced 10% to 15% higher entered the market.
04 · Capacity, projects & execution
What is being built, commissioned or delivered

The Engineering division exceeded budget on sales with 17% growth in Q1, meeting all key performance indicators (KPIs) for the period.
